Walsall Ladies kicked off their pre season on Sunday afternoon playing SJB Ladies from Birmingham County Division 1.
The game started off with both teams having an equal amount of possession, both having chances in front of goal.
Walsall started to build up momentum with some great passing through midfield which led to the opening goal 21 minutes into the game.
A great ball from Franci Roelake into the box found the feet of Sophie Ball who slotted the ball away past the SJB keeper.
Moments later and Walsall Ladies found themselves on the attack once again this time with the ball finding the feet of Lucy Hargrave who produced a stunning shot but it was just over the crossbar.
SJB Ladies were continuing to put pressure on the Walsall defence playing some brilliant football through the midfield.
A goal kick from Walsall goalkeeper Vick Dudley was flicked on by the midfield to find the feet of Bethany James who took a shot on the turn but it was easily saved by the SJB goalkeeper.
SJB ladies continued playing some great football down the wings and end up slotting home the equaliser to make the game 1-1 in the 32nd minute.
SJB then continued to pile the pressure on Walsall and eventually caught them off guard moments later as they went ahead, slotting the ball home to make it 2-1.
With the end of the first half approaching, SJB capitalised on their pace up front as they made it 3-1 following a cross from the right wing, with the striker slotting it past Dudley.
The Saddlers were able to muster up one last attack before the half time whistle went as a Rachel Watkins corner landed perfectly for Bethany James, who produced a stunning half volley to make it 3-2 right on the stroke of half-time.
Three minutes after the break and SJB restored their two goal lead as the Saddlers were caught napping and SJB were able to capitalise on the slow start to make it 4-2.
Just after the hour mark and the game was put out of the reach of Walsall Ladies as SJB produced a fine counter-attack from a Saddlers corner to add their fifth of the afternoon.
That was the last of the action as SJB Ladies ran out 5-2 winners.
